She is here. Our little angel arrived on June 25th at 3:09 in the morning. She weighed 4 lbs and 4 ounces and was 17.25 inches long. So here is the story of how it all came about. So on monday I went in for my normal appointment and they were a little worried because I had a little bit to much protein in my urine and my blood pressure was a little bit high. They sent me home to do a 24 hour urine draw, I brought it back the next day and dropped it off. Well on Wednesday morning I was in the shower and got a call from my doctor, he left a message to call them back which I thought was a little odd. I called back and spoke with his nurse and she asked me what I thought about having a baby that day. I couldn't believe it, they were worried about the urine draw they did and didn't want me to go any longer with the pregnancy cause they were worried I had the beginning stages of preeclampsia. So I called up Chris and told him what was going on and he came home. The hospital called and we got all of our bags ready to go and headed to the hospital. They got me checked in and checked me and I wasn't dialated at all still so they started me on the drug that makes you dialate. They had me hooked up to the monitors so they could monitor her heart rate and my contractions. They didn't start me on the pitosin to induce labor for quite a while because I was having contractions on my own and I was dialating with that drug. Finally around 9:30 I was feeling really hard contractions with a pain level of between a 4 and a 5. They started me on pitosin at that time and also gave me an ephidural because it was hurting. Once they gave me the ephidural I felt great, around between 12:30 and 1 they checked me and I was dialated to a 9 and I was 100 percent effaced, wow I was shocked and so was my mom and mother in law. They called my doctor to come in since he was the on call doctor, which was great. When my doctor came in I was dialated to a 10 and she was bearing down, they had to call in the anestetheologist to give me a higher dose of the ephidural because I was feeling intense pressure from her bearing down. Well I started pushing and pushed for about an hour to an hour and a half. It went really smooth, after she came out it was a little scary for a bit because she was having a hard time breathing, she also came out with the chord wrapped around her neck once. They put her under the lights and a bunch of people came in to help her out. They finally got her breathing and I heard a little cry from her, it was wonderful. My doctor was so glad that we got her out then because he was afraid if we waited any longer my placenta wouldn't have lasted much longer, it was small and old looking. We are so grateful our little angel is here and healthy. For how small she is, she is really healthy and does really well. We will keep everyone updated on how she is doing.
