Makenna Marie has arrived

She is here. Our little angel arrived on June 25th at 3:09 in the morning. She weighed 4 lbs and 4 ounces and was 17.25 inches long. So here is the story of how it all came about. So on monday I went in for my normal appointment and they were a little worried because I had a little bit to much protein in my urine and my blood pressure was a little bit high. They sent me home to do a 24 hour urine draw, I brought it back the next day and dropped it off. Well on Wednesday morning I was in the shower and got a call from my doctor, he left a message to call them back which I thought was a little odd. I called back and spoke with his nurse and she asked me what I thought about having a baby that day. I couldn't believe it, they were worried about the urine draw they did and didn't want me to go any longer with the pregnancy cause they were worried I had the beginning stages of preeclampsia. So I called up Chris and told him what was going on and he came home. The hospital called and we got all of our bags ready to go and headed to the hospital. They got me checked in and checked me and I wasn't dialated at all still so they started me on the drug that makes you dialate. They had me hooked up to the monitors so they could monitor her heart rate and my contractions. They didn't start me on the pitosin to induce labor for quite a while because I was having contractions on my own and I was dialating with that drug. Finally around 9:30 I was feeling really hard contractions with a pain level of between a 4 and a 5. They started me on pitosin at that time and also gave me an ephidural because it was hurting. Once they gave me the ephidural I felt great, around between 12:30 and 1 they checked me and I was dialated to a 9 and I was 100 percent effaced, wow I was shocked and so was my mom and mother in law. They called my doctor to come in since he was the on call doctor, which was great. When my doctor came in I was dialated to a 10 and she was bearing down, they had to call in the anestetheologist to give me a higher dose of the ephidural because I was feeling intense pressure from her bearing down. Well I started pushing and pushed for about an hour to an hour and a half. It went really smooth, after she came out it was a little scary for a bit because she was having a hard time breathing, she also came out with the chord wrapped around her neck once. They put her under the lights and a bunch of people came in to help her out. They finally got her breathing and I heard a little cry from her, it was wonderful. My doctor was so glad that we got her out then because he was afraid if we waited any longer my placenta wouldn't have lasted much longer, it was small and old looking. We are so grateful our little angel is here and healthy. For how small she is, she is really healthy and does really well. We will keep everyone updated on how she is doing.

My brother coming home and an update on baby

So my brother Jake came home from his mission to Uraguay on Friday June 12th. It is so good to have him home, he is such an awesome brother. Here is a video of his return, I knew he would cry and that I would cry as well.

I am almost 38 weeks. I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy has gone. So I have a story about my last couple of visits. So when I went to my 36 week appointment they did an ultrasound to see how she was doing. She is still measuring two weeks smaller, which they said ok, she will just be a small baby. The only thing he was worried about is my placenta was looking to be two weeks older than it should, which could cause some problems. He said I would start having non stress tests twice a week to measure the amniotic fluid, and moniter her heart rate. I have gone to three tests so far and everything has been fine. Also at that appointment I was 70% effaced and she had already dropped, but I was not dialated at all. So on my appointment on the 15th we decided that he would induce me on the 29th of June because he doesn't want to let me go all the way to my due date or further. I hadn't dialated yet so he said after my next appointment on the 22nd if I haven't dialated they will have me come in on the night of the 28th and give me pills to soften my cervix, I will sleep there overnight and they will start me in the morning. I can't believe she will be here in about a week. I am nervous but so excited to see her cute little face. I will try to update again before she comes but if not that will be my next post, our new little bundle. Wish me good luck!!! Here are some pictures at my cousin Kimber's baby shower. She is due with her first baby at the end of July. We are both having girls, it is so much fun. I can't wait to see Autumn. I love my cousin so much and I am so glad we could be pregnant at the same time. It is kind of funny we are two weeks apart in age and have always been close. Our babies might be two to three weeks apart and I hope they can be close. I love you Kimber and I hope your last couple of weeks are great.

My prego belly at 34 weeks
So I finally decided to update my blog with some pictures and some information of how things are going. We have been doing lots of different things. My cousin graduated from the University of Utah last month and I was able to attend her graduation, it was awesome. I am so proud of her and all of her accomplishments, love you Erica. There were a couple of different birthdays in May between my family and Chris's, but most of the ones in my family don't live here so we didn't have parties for them. We had a new niece born on my side of the family on May 16th, we didn't know if the baby was going to be a boy or a girl and were so excited it was a girl. She is really cute and tiny. She was 6 lbs and 15 ounces, her name is Haley Corrine Allred (not sure on the spelling of her first name). I didn't get to see her the first week she was born cause I was sick, it was so sad. On the friday before memorial day my team at work got to go to the Living Planet Aquariam in Sandy for a team outing, it was a ton of fun hanging out with everyone and taking some fun pictures, I will miss my team members when I leave they are so awesome. On memorial day Chris and I went to the Red Butte Gardens in the morning for an hour. I had never been there before and wanted to go see it, we had fun walking around and enjoying the beautiful weather, it was great. A little update on pregnancy, things are going good I am at 35 weeks so only 5 more to go, I have had a couple of baby showers and am so blessed with things that people have got for our little girl. I am measuring a little bit small but my doctor is not worried and hasn't moved my due date so that is nice. I have an appointment with my doctor on the 8th of June which I will be at 36 weeks and then start my every week appointments, craziness. Well here is the update for now and I will update again soon after my brother comes home on the 12th from his mission.
